Did I ever want to be a singer? & Human Shields




@Annie, No, I don't think I ever wanted to be a singer. I don't like going up on stage in front of people...nervousness and stage fright kicks in and I can't sing. Voice isn't so good. I'd be horrible at it and I've had the idea of being a doctor in my head for a really long time so nothing else ever made the list. I would love to be able to sing good but professionally nope.

I read an article about Muslim's in Egypt forming a human shield around Christians and about Christians forming a human shield around Muslims. I was amazed and touched when I read about this. It sort of restores your faith in humans a bit.

This makes you stop, realize and think about what is going on today; the media's and people with power's hold over the regular person. These break that hold and shows you that people are united. Egyptians have amazed and impressed me through their actions. I wish everyone would think like that. However, that is not the case. It was heartwarming and really good to read about it. Also, the idea of making a shield using your body is something that not a lot of people do. When I thought of this, mother was brought to my mind. A mother will shield her child using her body unconsciously in the presence of danger. [Sorry my mind drifts a lot =p]

They weren't prominent articles, I certainty wouldn't have come across them and I don't know if the big name popular newspaper's have printed it or not. I doubt it. These are some of the things that sort of get overlooked and the negatives get all the attention.

The media pays attention to the shortcoming and negatives of the group mostly. All you hear about in the news is the involvement of a small portion of a group being applied to the whole group, being exaggerated and brought up over and over again. It is usually the bad and the shortcomings that are paid attention. The good and the small efforts are usually ignored and just a sentence or a short paragraph mentioned in a small place. [<--Language & Power Class -hehe- I learned something! yaay!]
